The yielding is a type of magic exclusive to the Ironteeth Witches.
Yielding is the only piece of magic an Ironteeth witch can use. When a witch is about to lose a battle, she may call upon it. The Yielding creates a massive explosion that destroys the witch's enemies but kills her in the bargain. It appears as if the witch turns into a burst of light. It was used by The Thirteen to destroy the Witch Tower at the battle of Orynth. The Valg's allied witches also used it, as the Witch Towers held a series of mirrors that could focus a Yielding into a powerful blast that decimated armies.
Interestingly, when the Thirteen performed the Yielding, their blast of light was colored white. When the enemy Valg allied witches performed it, it was described as black.
