“ | When I began working on WOTOG, I didn’t realize how much of a passion project this would become for me...On the flip side of that, really wanting to do a deep dive into this project to make sure it’s as awesome as it can be means that I need some more time on it. I don't have an updated release date for you guys yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do! ...I think it’s going to be something really special (in my humble opinion, of course!), and even though it’s now a ways off, I can’t wait to share it with you all! | ” |

“ | [In response to previous comment]...sadly, the information for World of Throne of Glass that you might have seen on Amazon and other online retailers is incorrect and we are working on a fix. More information will be coming soon! | ” |
The World of Throne of Glass is an upcoming supplementary book in the Throne of Glass series. It will cover languages, geography, religions, and history, among other topics. Due to Sarah having a baby, as well as other commitments, the release has been postponed several times from its initial October 30th, 2018 date. Its current release date is unknown, pending confirmation by Sarah and/or Bloomsbury, though various official sites currently display differing and unconfirmed release dates.
As of October 2020, World of Throne of Glass is no longer displayed on Bloomsbury's site. Amazon and Bookdepository have since updated their respective results to show an October 2021 release date, however it is unclear whether this date has been confirmed or was changed to show that WoToG was not released on October 1st, 2020 as was listed on both sites previously.[3][4] It should be noted that Bookdepository has the World of Throne of Glass listed under the title Untitled Bloomsbury Non-Fiction Fall 2030.
Release
Since the first announcement of a Throne of Glass companion novel, World of Throne of Glass has been postponed several times from its initial October 30th, 2018 date. Due to Sarah having a baby, as well as the ill health of her father and other writing commitments, WoToG was first pushed back to September 3rd, 2019, and then to October 1st, 2019. However, no new information about the book, such as a cover reveal, was forthcoming until April 2019, when Sarah explained in a newsletter that in her attempt to make the book as detailed as possible, more time would be needed. Embers of Memory: A Throne of Glass Game was announced soon afterwards with a release date of October 1st, the same day as WoToG's expected new release.
Official retail sites such as Amazon continued to display October 1st as the expected publication date for WoToG until Bloomsbury confirmed that the date was wrong in a reply to a comment made on one of Sarah's Instagram posts[5], on September 27th. As of October 2020 several release dates are shown on various retail and book sites[6][7], though no date has been confirmed by either the author or her publisher.

Trivia
- During her Kingdom of Ash tour, Sarah confirmed that the book will be an encyclopedia of the series written ten years after the last book, giving us glimpses of where the characters are at that point.[9]
- Sarah also mentioned that The World of Throne of Glass will be chronicled by "a cranky, old librarian" who interviews different characters after the war in Kingdom of Ash. There will be illustrations, interview snippets, etc.
