The King's Champion Tournament was a competition taking place in Adarlan's capital, Rifthold with the victor becoming the King's Champion. Celaena Sardothien was the only female participant out of the twenty-four competitors. The tournament served as the main plot of Throne of Glass. Each competitor was selected by a member of the King's council.
The tournament lasted thirteen weeks, with a test once a week. Someone would be eliminated after each test. In between tests the champions would be able to train and learn from Theodus Brullo, the Weapons Master. Brullo also served as the judge of the compitition. The week after Yulemas, the four remaining champions would face each other in a duel to win the title of King's Champion.
