House Whitethorn is a noble house of Doranelle. Its banner is silver with a white-tailed hawk emblazoned on it. Its members are the descendants of the Fae Queen Mora.
History[]
The House of Whitethorn was created by the middle Fae Sister-Queen Mora, before she fell in love with a human man and gave up her immortality. Its members inherited Mora's magic and silver hair. At some point in history, the Whitethorns became subjects of Maeve.
During the Valg War, House Whitethorn sailed its armada to Eyllwe on Maeve's orders and burned much of its coastline, to stir up resentment towards Aelin Galathynius. Rowan Whitethorn, one of the many princes of the house, pleaded with his cousins in the armada to fight on his side against Maeve instead, and during a major battle in Eyllwe all the Whitethorns turned on Maeve's forces.[1] They then retreated to escape her wrath and joined the war effort against Erawan, fighting for Terrasen.
After the war ended and Maeve was killed, the Whitethorns returned to Doranelle with Sellene Whitethorn as the new Queen of Doranelle, the Queen in the East. They then became the ruling family of Doranelle.[2]
