I feel I haven't been able to give as much of my time to this wiki as I should, so I'm letting Ren take the helm from here. Ren's been around and active longer than anyone else here and will do an amazing job.

That said, I'm not leaving this wiki by any means, so if you ever have questions, requests, or just want to chat, don't hesitate to tag me or leave a message on my wall :)

When I first came onto this wiki we’d just refer to other users by nicknames, either ones they gave themself or ones we gave them based on their username. Use this post as an opportunity to just say hello to your fellow Maassassins and introduce yourself with a nickname we can call you! If you don’t have a nickname yet then we’ll have fun figuring one out for you :)

Edit: nicknames also make it so we don’t have to tag the other person every time and send double notifications so so useful

Hi, I’m Raina.

In the past, this wiki has never had a specific AI policy, but that was before AI art became so popular and before we knew how AI steals other artists’ work to “make” its own. I’m in the middle of drafting a new policy, but I wanted to get your thoughts: do you think AI Art is ok as long as it adheres to character descriptions, or should we remove AI Art from the wiki?

I’ll post a poll later, but it’s imperative that you participate in this discussion because this will be a huge change for our wiki.

House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City #3) is coming out THIS Monday Jan. 30th. As always, you can discuss any of SJM’s books on this wiki, however I ask that any posts including CC3 content (whether that be plot events, fanarts, theories, etc) be placed in the “Spoilers” category and have a spoiler warning at the top of the post.

This is only for the first couple months of the book’s release and is to ensure users have ample time to read.

Examples of sufficient spoiler warnings include:

”SPOILERS for CC3”

”SPOILERS for chapter 32 of CC3”

”SPOILERS for part 1 of CC3”

Of course, we encourage discussion regardless of whether you’ve finished the book or not; we just want everyone to be mindful of others. If you haven’t picked up CC or ACoTaR yet, now would be a fantastic time to get started, and it would supplement the new book perfectly. Happy reading :)

We have a lot of new ppl on the wiki, so I thought we should take the time to introduce (or reintroduce) ourselves. Just put your preferred nickname in the chat and maybe a SJM/ToG related fun fact abt you in the comments!

It’s come to my attention that we haven’t been posting in the right categories recently. It’s very important we do because it keeps our wiki organized. It also makes it easier for members to find relevant posts.

Here’s a quick rundown of the categories:

Book Series: Anything having to do with one or all of SJM’s book series as a whole goes here (ex. new book covers for the series, a theory connecting multiple series)

Fun and Games: This one is self-explanatory—any game you propose goes here (ex. appreciation month voting/announcement posts)

Mods/Admin: Most of you don’t need to use this category because it’s mostly just for when mods/admins make announcements like this one (the weekly OT post can also be found here, however)

Memes/Fanart: Any posts showing fanart (whether it’s your own or not) or sharing memes go here (fanmade creations like fanfics, etc. also go here)

Polls: Again, it’s simple, any and all polls go here

Friendly Reminders: Friendly Reminders are a special kind of post where someone reminds us something about the series that’s truly not very friendly, and these posts should go here (filter your feed using this category to get examples)

Spoilers: Anytime SJM releases a new book, for the first month or two any posts about that book should go here (posts about older books containing spoilers for big plot twists can go under its respective category—not here—and just have a label at the top on the post telling members that it has spoilers for a specific part of the series)

General: Posts that don’t fit under a specific category (ex. introduction posts) or go under too many categories can go here

If you’re ever unsure about where to post, just put it under the general category and I or one of the mods will put it under the correct category later, but do try your best to keep our wiki neat.
