@Fireheart'sbuzzard what do you think of the Darkling?im like very late to answer this but i saw it so i might as well respond to it.
i don't like the darkling at all and the whole purpose of his character according to leigh was to show how men in power manipulate the privilege they have and the wretched stuff they do for their own gain or for the gain of a community that eventually leads back to them and if i were to by any means say that i liked the darkling (not that i do, i don't i promise) then i would in some sort be supporting his actions which i totally am against like that man is a master manipulator, groomer and he's fucked in the head and his justification that he wanted what was best for the grisha does not in any way shape of form justify what he did and the number of people he hurt along the way. its messed up in the worst way possible and he needs electroconvulsive therapy.
with that said i do think he's a complex character and there were moments we were allowed to see the more humane parts of him and there were points were i felt bad for him cause deep down no matter how much power he held he's vulnerable and he was hurting too but that doesn't qualify as an excuse to do any of what he did
