Currently reading "The Assassins Blade" after "Heir of Fire" and am loving it, especially knowing the characters previously.

In one short story however, Celaena meets Dorian and Chaol at a party (even though their identity is never confirmed it is obvious). Does Celaena not recognise Dorian when she subsequently meets him after leaving Endovier? Surely with her skill it would have clicked that he was the same person?

No matter what I do I cannot find good fan art for Celaena Sardothian. I'm not saying the art itself is bad I'm just saying that she does not at all look like what I imagine or what is on the cover of the ToG books. I also think when people create fan art for her they are either portraying a much older version of her or forget that the majority of the books she is only 17 and for about half of The assassins blade she is 16. I think a lot of people think when the books said that Celaena gave off an air of a much older women it didn't mean physical appearance, but the way she held herself and her knowledge. Does anyone feel the same or just me lol. I could be spewing nonsense so feel free to correct me lol.

No other way to say it: my friend is mad. Like rly rly mad at SJM for killing Sam off. He’s going to read on tho and he says he won’t stop till Arobynn dies but ik he’ll want to read more after that too. He absolutely loved Sam (second favorite character rn) and Samlaena so he was rly sad when Sam died. He liked the book except for the fact that Sam died. (He said he’d rather that Celaena had died than Sam)

Now my fake bf: his reactions were not what I expected (in a good way). He started getting into the story once the mission with Doneval started and he said he actually teared up when Celaena was abt to die in the sewers and Sam couldn’t save her. He knew she would survive (there’s 7 more books after all) but he was still genuinely worried. I just told him that’s not even the worst scene in the book let alone the series. And then he loved the Samlaena relationship development afterwards when Celeana starts being nice to him. And when Celaena spends all that money of freeing herself from Arobynn and he just spends it on Lysandra? That’s when he rly started not liking Arobynn. Bc up until then he knew Arobynn wasn’t a good person but he thought Arobynn was just neutral. And then it’s that Samlaena scene in the sewers when they first kiss and he LOVED that scene. He said “now that scene was soo well done omg like that played with my emotions by far my favourite part in the book”. He wants to punch Arobynn in the face for all he’s done to Sam and Celaena with making Sam watch him beat Celaena and tricking them with the slave deals and that’s just so for he hasn’t read assassin and the empire yet. So yeah that’s that he’s got 90 pages left and I’m hoping he’ll finish this week (also just ftr I keep calling him “fake bf” bc that’s the only name you all know him by lol if you want me to call him something else I will)

So you guys remember that friend who was reading TAB? The one who likes Nehemia sm? So he still hasn't finished the book (he promised me he'd be done by Monday tho), but he's done with Assassin and the Underworld. So after the Pirate Lord story he thought Sam was kinda annoying and that's basically it but then he read the rest and omg he rly likes Sam now and he also ships Samlaena a lot now (his exact words were "Celaena and Sam is couple goals") and I love it that he loves them sm but then he's gonna find out that Sam dies and *sigh* heartbreak 💔. I just feel so sad thinking abt him finding out that Samlaena isn't endgame and its not cause of him feeling sad abt it when he finds out lol its cause him finding out will remind me of that part in the book and that'll make me so sad again ughhh. He was asking me abt things that happen with Samlaena later in the series and ahh thinking abt Samlaena just made me so sad so I told him half-truths abt what happens with Samlaena and he's looking forward to things that will never going to happen 😔 So all that is sad but also happy since he's loving the characters (he's gonna start reading The Assassin and the Empire soon)

Now onto some funny news too:

So my friend this guy I swear he just can not get the titles or the order of the short stories straight like istg. He said the Yrene story was the third one and then tells me he's finished the Desert one and then he say's he hasn't finished the third one and then he says he meant the underworld one and this isn't him trying to piss me off he genuinely don't know this and omg istg I was abt to explode bc him mixing everything up was getting on my nerves and making me so confused cause I need him to finish this book quickly and he just keeps changing his answer as to where in the book he is 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I got so mad/impatient that I started texting him voice messages ( I would've just texted in all caps but that was too slow for me and I was in the middle of switching classes-lol yes I was furiously whisper-yelling at him over voice text in the middle of crowded hallways) and he got scared lol I was just glad my emotions transferred well cause now he's taken it upon himself to memorize all the titles and their order

Lol he was talking (well technically he was joking but he’s not fooling me ik he wants to read it…) abt how he wanted to be home so he could read and then this happened:

I have this friend who doesn’t read ANY books even if it’s for school. Like he’s read maybe two or three of all of the novels we’ve done in school over the years and he just reads detailed summaries to do the assignments for the rest, but point is he doesn’t read at all and I finally convinced him to read ToG! He’s finished with The Assassin and the Healer, and he’s reading The Assassin and the Desert rn and he actually rly likes it. He rly liked the ending of The Assassin and the Pirate Lord, but he thought The Assassin and the Healer was a bit dry, but my friend and I have told him that the Assassin and the Desert is rly good (and so are the rest of the stories in TAB) so he’s looking forward to them. (He knows some spoilers for the series tho because I may or may not have turned to him for venting out emotions while reading ToG myself BUT I don’t think it’ll effect his enjoyment) Anyways, I’d tried a couple times before to convince him and he wouldn’t listen but now he’s reading it! I’m really excited 😁

Okay but I love Sam. I've said it. Its official. I LOVE SAM. and I know what's coming, I'm only halfway through..... and I am not prepared. *cries and prays*
