I mean, when she dumped Dorian my heart broke...and I was really unimpressed with her. So I guess that's when I didn't like her. Or at the start of The Assassin's Blade, when she just did not care about Sam at ALL.
Idk hard question for me lol. But I didn’t like the way she discounted Dorian’s powers and capability as a king, warrior, etc in KoA. I get it was out of protectiveness and she had a ton of things on her mind but that was the only time I can remember where I was honestly annoyed with her
There are times when I think that she’s takes things to far. I understand that she would risk innocent people for her country but the amount of times she done it, it made it feel as if she saw using her powers and assassin abilities (I can’t think of a word for it ok) as the only way to get things when there might have been other ways (the scene in EoS when she calls the Valg to Rolfes island and when she done the whole your people aren’t made of stone). And the way she treated Lorcan often frustrated me because she often used words such as unacceptable when describing him becuawe of the battle at the Mistward where he ran past her (along with the rest of cadre, Gavriel was the only one who stopped, only because he thought she she could be his daughter and he saw her and Riwans connection ig) and cause Lorcan whipped Rowan, but he was forced to because of the blood oath and often seemed to regret it in EoS and when he called Marge to save Elide in EoS but that was only because he couldn’t have something happen to Elide and Rowan or Aelin might do the same for each other if they knew they were protected. Also she needs to tells someone her god damned plans.
Anyway rant over, this has been building up for years and I’ve finally had the chance to let it out, sorry if any stuff is incorrect but it’s just kinda my opinion.
Hey
I’ve never rlly been annoyed of Aelin, (that’s one of my favourite heroes) but sometimes, in KoA, it was a bit annoying and there was no hope then I was very sad for her and whole serie and all characters but... I’ve always liked her because I see her as a determined, powerful stubborn and clever women, and even if she’s sometimes arrogant that’s what the world need right now... So I don’t blame her for being a little little bit annoying when time comes...
Ya
Its very late so dont mind me sounding dumb also Aelin is probs top 3 favorite characters for me of all time so just keep that in mind as I'm very biased.
I wasn't really annoyed with her until KoA because I felt like her character was a bit off and she didn't seem herself (I get months of torture will do that)
Also when she says 'all of it for terrasen' or whatever I get mildly annoyed bc as much as i understand her actions regarding her hiding it seems odd to say you are 100% devoted when she was just chillin in Rithold for 10 years as an assassin with no inclinations toward taking back her kingdom. I understand she was a child but i don't like how she pretends she was always working towards that goal and sacrificing in Terrasens name. Other than that I guess you can call her annoying in the first two books but she just seems like a cocky (rightfully so) teenager who never got to be kid.
What do you think?
